Poraflex

Poraflex Tennis courtsPoraflex® High Performance Water Permeable Cushioned Acrylic Surface.

ITF Court Classification - Pace 3 MediumThe patented system comprises a high quality prefabricated 6mm rubber mat and specially formulated acrylic spray coatings resulting in a highly durable permeable surface offering maximum comfort and consistent ball bounce.

Some materials used in court construction can become less resilient or stiffer in cold weather conditions. The rubber mat used in Poraflex® is inherently stable and its properties do not vary significantly over a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions. Furthermore the mat is prefabricated and manufactured to a controlled and uniform thickness thus eliminating any unevenness in the cushion layer that might cause variable ball bounce.

Poraflex Tennis courts

Poraflex® spray coatings can be adjusted to meet the slip resistance requirements for other sports such as netball, basketball and five-a-side. This makes it the ideal surface choice for Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs).

The porous substrate is usually a two course open textured macadam base with minimum thickness as laid down by the SAPCA Code of Practice for the Construction and Maintenance of Tennis Courts.

The porous recycled rubber mat is then adhered to the substrate using a specially formulated and applied adhesive that maintains the porosity of the system.

The system is completed using two spray applications of a highly durable acrylic coating providing the required slip resistance and choice of colour.
